While performing duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions; and is frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens or airborne particles, fumes and gases, electrical and chemical hazards, and vibrations/turbulence. Pre-employment and annual physicals will be provided to include appropriate immunizations as required, back screening, and a PPD skin test for tuberculosis.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring hearing protection while in-flight, and at a moderate level when in the hospital environment. Pre-employment and annual audiograms will be provided to monitor for hearing loss. Noise attenuation devices will be provided to all employees, but it is the employee’s responsibility to utilize these devices to prevent hearing loss.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Interfaces with Regional Administration, Area Managers, Medical Directors, Medical Education Coordinators, and division staff to insure effective provision of medical services provided, including standards, training, and quality management.
· Collaborates with Regional Administration, Area Managers, Medical Managers, and Medical Directors on medical care issues and clinical standardization, where appropriate.
· Oversees training and education standards within the region to insure optimal patient care and clinical competency.
· Assists Area Medical Managers and Medical Directors in development of new area medical standards, and reviews and approves final versions.
· Monitors and insures compliance with CAMTS standards and all state and local regulations. Provides guidance and resource throughout CAMTS accreditation process for flight programs within region. Reviews all PIF applications prior to program submission to the Commission. Conducts preparatory mock survey prior to CAMTS site surveys.
· Conducts medical base audits, makes recommendations and implements changes as needed.
· Oversees the implementation of all new medical activities to include air medical bases and expanded services.
· Develops, proposes and approves capital expenditure plans to support medical needs for the region and programs.
· Develops annual goals for Air Methods CBS medical operations.
· Participates in strategic planning for the region and establishes regional goals for medical operations.
· Provides regional medical representation to customers, industry, and outside entities.
· Evaluates and makes recommendations for medical staff retention and recruitment and promotes medical staff development.
· Facilitates clinical workgroups to include Medical Directors, Medical Managers and Medical Education Coordinators.
· Serves as Air Methods CBS Medical Services Directors’ spokesperson on a biennial rotational basis.
· Completes annual performance appraisals of Area Medical Managers and Regional Medical Education Coordinator
· Conducts Medical Manager, Medical Base Supervisor, Regional and Area Medical Education Coordinator and Medical Director interviews in collaboration with Area Management.
· Works in conjunction with the Area Medical Manager and Human Resources on all medical performance improvement plans, disciplinary and counseling events.
· Serves as a resource for Regional staff, Area Managers, and other managers as necessary.
· Manages personal and professional growth by maintaining educational requirements and possesses knowledge of changes and advances in the air medical field.
· Able to react to change productively and complete other duties and tasks as assigned.
