Transport Team Nurse

The Transport Nurse is an experienced, professional nurse with primary responsibility for the stabilization and organized transport of critically ill patients for Children's Memorial Hospital in a mobile environment, as well as triages and facilitates requests for patient transfer from referring hospitals. As a secondary responsibility, the Transport Nurse is responsible for the development of educational programs. Customer service, communication and public relations are key aspects of this position.

• Obtains and records a realistic assessment of the patient's health status through interview, physical exam, records, reports, and consultations, which is accurate and comprehensive.

Chief Flight Nurse

The Chief Flight Nurse (CFN) provides the leadership for the operations, supervision, management and safety for the flight and ground Adult/Pediatric, Neonatal and Communication/Transport Teams for the ShandsCair that demonstrates the organization's mission of excellent care. The CFN is knowledgeable of the scope of practice and ensures competency of each transport team member and communication specialist. The CFN is responsible for ensuring that the program meets and is in compliace with all JCAHO standards and state and federal regulations in which the transport team practices. The CFN works collaboratively with the Director of Trauma and Aeromedical Services, Associate Vice-President and the Medical Directors to manage the system for delivery of care with the highest degree of safety and quality. The CFN is accountable for hiring, training and continuing education for all personnel who work for the service and for fiscal and quality management.

Current MN and WI RN Licenses (both required at time of hire)
Current Certifications: ACLS; BCLS; PALS or ENPC; BTLS, TNCC, FNATC or ATLS
NRP Preferred
3 years experience adult ICU, CCU or ED
Valid driver’s license
2 years driving experience
Must pass mandatory post-offer drug/physical agility/background/criminal record screening tests
Clinician must weigh 220 pounds or less (including gear) for rotor wing positions
