Flight Nurse

Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Current California RN license.
Minimum of 3 yrs critical care experience (>1 yr of adult ICU experience preferred).
Current AHA ACLS, BCLS, PALS and NRP provider.
CEN, CCRN and MICN recommended for entry-level position.
Must maintain a "duty" weight of less than 205 lbs (body weight plus uniform and equipment).

Flight Nurse Qualifications:

One (1) year of the above six (6) years must be in the ICU.

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Illinois. BSN preferred. Three years of pediatric or neonatal critical care required. Demonstrates leadership qualities and capacity for independent judgment and action as evident in performance appraisals. Demonstrates ability to educate and effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians, and hospital staff. Basic Life Support Certification required. PALS/NRP/ACLS/TNCC preferred and will be required in the first year. Pass a neonatal exam in the first year. Capable of performing MEDIUM WORK. Must be able to carry 40 pounds at a time, with frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds. Requires good overall physical health and body agility to enter/exit ambulance, helicopter and fixed wing aircraft. Frequently required to lift; push; pull equipment and patients.

Licensed as RN in Florida; BSN and current EMT-Paramedic and board certification required (CFRN,CCRN,or CEN). MSN or graduate degree in health related field preferred. Specialty certifications required: ACCC, ACLS,PALS or ENPC, PHTLS, ITLS or TNCCP. Minimum 5 years professional nursing practice experience with demonstrated clinical skills in flight nursing with three years management experience. Knowledgeable of patient care delivery models, care coordination, and performance improvement process.

Valid driver’s license
2 years driving experience
Must pass mandatory post-offer drug/physical agility/background/criminal record screening tests
Clinician must weigh 220 pounds or less (including gear) for rotor wing positions
